1. The Craigslist
The first thing I do when I am in the mood for some vintage T Shirt Shopping is I go on Craigslist and I start looking for Garage Sales. Suprisingly I have unearthed hundreds of great T Shirts just by calling people up and/or emailing and asking if they have any vintage t-shirts. Many people will digg around and you'd be suprised how lucky I get.
2. The Ebay Monster
I have found Ebay to be a pain in the ass to wade through. But luckily I have found 2 distributors who almost always can satisfy my every longing.
Vintage Vantage Rating: 7000+ 99.3%. Let’s give credit where credit is due: VV has been one of the pioneers of the eBay vintage shirt phenomenon that continues to run wild. (Hey, they were my inspiration for getting into the business.) Funny descriptions, styled photos and a series of trippy backdrops. They currently sell mostly through their website, but still release a consistent flow of auctions. Fresh.
Smith and Pooter Vintage Rating 18,500+ 99.2%. The next big shooters who have had 200+ items consistently up for grabs since day one. I’m not sure which one is Smith and which one is Pooter but they have the two most recognizable faces in eBay vintage. I suspect they might be robots because they look freakishly the same in every photo.
3. Thriftstore Cowboys
Every Saturday I go out with the Boyfriend, he hates me for this. And hit every single damn thriftstore from National City to Point Loma. You get the idea its a lot of them. Usually I can drag out half a dozen vintage t-shirts for my top secret ebay store.
4. Garage Sales
All throughout Southern California there is a tradition to set up Garage Sales just about every warm weekend in the Spring and Summer. And trust I have worn out many a set of my boyfriends truck tires by making him drive me to each and every one looking for that old USC Trojans T Shirt.
5. T Shirt Search Engines
I spend a ton of time online working in the T Shirt Industry so I have become familiar with T Shirt Search Engines included PleaseDress.me, & Teenormous.com being my two favorites.
