 Lately I have been thinking about starting a T Shirt Shop. There are some great resources online in order to do just that. Let's jump in head first.

Stage One: Creation

CafePress, is home to one of the oldest Design Your Own product systems on the internet. It is great for designing your own T Shirts and selling them online. And they have a great store creation system as well.

Zazzle allows you to create custom tshirts and other cool gear on the fly and have it ready to ship out in 24 hours or less. I had never heard of this up and coming startup but it seems to have a HUGE following.

Etsy, is a place to buy things that you have created handmade. So you could create items at home and sell them on this up and coming very fast growing marketplace. Which boasts a huge following of creators and consumers.

Stage 2: Marketing

Once you have created a product whether in your own home, or a web based dropshipper. You have to begin marketing it. Here are some ways I recommend you get started. Create a storefront. I recommend starting a blog, with a product feed or link out in the sidebar to your storefront products. One such product that is really cool is called BigCartel. They allow you to create really cool storefronts,integrate a shopping cart and badda bing you are in business in seconds.

Creating a blog is easy. I use Tumblr for my blog and it allows you to have a custom domain or a subdomain of their choosing. Either way its so easy even a toddler could use it and it's great for staying in touch with your customers and biggest fans.

Twitter is a microblogging service that is great for connecting with some amazing customers,competitors, and fans. If you are not on Twitter, your not in business.

In closing, The Tshirt business is all about creating a great product, marketing it successfully. It's about showing up every single day with a great product and great service. If you can do that you can run a successful T Shirt Shop.
